The Women Leadership Institute (WLI) successfully hosted its June AI Masterclass titled “Smart Women, Smart Future: Leveraging AI for Growth,” bringing together women from diverse professional and entrepreneurial backgrounds to explore how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be harnessed for personal, professional, and business advancement.
The virtual masterclass featured Dr. Somachi Kachikwu, an accomplished educator, leadership expert, and WLI Programs Director, who delivered an engaging and practical session on the transformative role of AI in today's rapidly evolving world.
During the training, participants gained valuable insights into the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence, including the distinctions between traditional AI and Generative AI, the importance of effective prompting techniques, and the ethical use of AI-powered tools such as ChatGPT and Claude.

Dr. Kachikwu emphasized that AI should be viewed as a tool for amplifying human potential rather than replacing human intelligence. She encouraged participants to leverage AI to improve productivity, strengthen leadership capacity, enhance personal branding, and create new opportunities for career and business growth.
Through practical demonstrations and interactive exercises, attendees learned how to provide context-rich prompts that enable AI systems to deliver more relevant and personalized results. Participants also explored ways to customize AI assistants to support their specific professional goals and daily responsibilities.
A key highlight of the session was the discussion on using AI for leadership development, career advancement, entrepreneurship, content creation, and strategic decision-making. The training also addressed common misconceptions about AI, reassuring participants that while AI can automate certain tasks, it cannot replace human judgment, creativity, emotional intelligence, and authentic leadership.
The masterclass further stressed the importance of responsible AI usage. Participants were encouraged to verify AI-generated information, maintain ethical standards, and ensure transparency whenever AI tools are used in research, content development, or professional communications.
As part of the practical takeaways from the session, participants were challenged to develop a 90-day AI-powered growth plan designed to enhance their productivity, leadership effectiveness, visibility, and income-generating opportunities.

The event concluded with remarks from the Founder and Executive Chairman of the Women Leadership Institute, Her Excellency Ambassador Dr. Kema Chikwe, who commended participants for embracing innovation and encouraged women to position themselves for leadership in an increasingly technology-driven world.
Speaking after the event, WLI reaffirmed its commitment to empowering women with relevant knowledge, leadership skills, and digital competencies required to thrive in the future of work and leadership.
The Institute also announced its upcoming Leadership Masterclass Series scheduled to commence in July 2026, with a focus on Leadership, Confidence, and Personal Branding.
The AI Masterclass forms part of WLI's broader mission of equipping women with the tools, knowledge, and networks needed to lead effectively, create impact, and succeed in a rapidly changing global landscape.
